Welcome!

Welcome to the Tiny Yarn Lab blog! I am so excited to share works in progress, finished pieces, and free patterns here.

My name is Aislinn (pronounced Ash-lin). I taught myself to crochet in late September 2024, so at the time that I’m writing this, I’ve been crocheting for less than a year. Now, that may not sound like a lot of experience, but once I picked up that first crochet hook, I could not stop. I have probably hooked over a million stitches over the last 11 months.

I’ve never been much of a blog reader until I started to crochet. Sure, I’ve gotten recipes from blogs but always scrolled past the story they shared before getting to the recipe. With crochet blogs, I found myself wanting to read their thought process behind the pattern or why they designed it. What inspired them? What were they watching or listening to while they created? In the words of Taylor Swift:

So here I am, starting my own blog. As much as I am a mood reader, I’m also a mood crocheter. I haven’t really found a niche yet, and I am okay with that. What I want to create changes week to week. Sometimes I want to follow a pattern; sometimes I want to wing it. I’ll be sharing my projects here, including my original pattern or a link to the pattern I used, what inspired the creation, and what went on during the process.

Enjoy and thanks for reading!
